Small metal/ceramic brackets are placed on every tooth and wires are passed through them to bring about movement of teeth to a favourable position.
The time frame for treatment depends on the complexity. Once the teeth are in favourable position retainers are given to maintain the position of the teeth.
Treatment can be started when the permanent first molars are in their position and can be done at any age there after provided the gum health is favourable.
Functional appliances can be given during the growing years to improve the skeletal and tooth positions.
